Name: Morgan Baynham
Statement: I have been a teacher of History since 2010 and Head of History at the Compton School since 2013. During this time I have successfully introduced an innovative, enquiry focused programme of study across both key stages, resulting in marked and consistent improvements in departmental results, quality of teaching and subject uptake. My specialist areas include curriculum design, raising attainment through the use of intervention and tracking strategies and the development and implementation of shared departmental practices. In my current role I have worked closely as both a coach and mentor with individual teachers to effect positive chance in teaching practice, with a particular focus on formative and summative assessment. I also work as an examiner for Edexcel and have written for the Historical Association’s secondary-level journal, Teaching History.
