The school’s results remained around 50% between 1997 and 2000, but in 1999 there was a significant appointment for The Compton School.

Teresa Tunnadine was appointed as Headteacher in March 1999 and took up post in September of that year. The school was soon recognised as a Beacon School, an award that recognised the school’s growing national reputation for outreach work and supporting the wider education system.

The whole world celebrated the turn of a new millennium at the end of that year and there would be further reasons for The Compton School to celebrate.
