I am pleased to welcome you to the Compton website.
It is my pleasure to write to you formally in my new role as head of The Compton School. Having worked at the school for many years, I am very familiar with many of you, the school and the local community. I look forward to meeting you over the coming months.
My expectations of students at The Compton School and our ethos remain unchanged. We strive for excellence in all that we do. Our strap line “Excellence through Dedication and Respect” guides us all, students and staff. Over the past few years we have developed a series of clear and consistent practices about how we teach and the qualities that we wish to develop in our learners; the Compton DNA. They are at the heart of our success. We are very proud to be an Outstanding School and a National Teaching School.
Our outstanding results are testament to the quality of teaching and learning at The Compton School, as well as the positive relationships between staff and students and the excellent learning behavior of all of our students. Our results placed us in the top 1% in 2015 and we received a letter from Nick Gibb in January 2016 stating that, “Your school had one of the highest Progress 8 scores across all schools in the country…this reflects the impressive progress made by your pupils since the end of primary school.”
The Compton School’s learning environment is exceptional having benefitted from an investment of millions of pounds over many years enabling the school to provide very impressive facilities. In 2016, we will be opening our new sixth form building. This will be a welcome addition to accommodate our growing Sixth Form.
I hope you find our website informative and that it gives you a flavour of what makes The Compton School so unique and so outstanding.
