1995 saw Phase 1 of The Compton School building projects begin, with the first part of the “New Block”, the sports hall and the all weather pitch being built.
In 1996, the school received its first Ofsted report, where it was graded as Outstanding. The report stated, “There is a secure, well ordered and happy environment at the core of which is high quality teaching. The setting up of a successful new school is a considerable achievement and is due to the hard work and dedication of all staff over the last four years.”
The school achieved its first set of GCSE results in 1997, with 50% of students achieving A* to C grades.
“There is a very positive ethos in the school which is reflected in the commitment to high achievement, an effective learning environment, good relationships and equality of opportunity for all pupils.”
