2011 was a record breaking year for The Compton with 97% of students achieving 5A* to C grades, the highest results to date.
2011 saw The Compton School become one of the first Converter Academies in the UK. The school was also awarded the Investors in People Gold award and the Community Cohesion Platinum Award, just 6 months after being awarded the Gold Award!
The school also updated its strap line, with staff, students and governors deciding that “Excellence through Dedication and Respect” best represented the extraordinary achievements of the school.
In 2011, the school was awarded National Teaching School status, one of only 100 schools nationally to be awarded the coveted status. This designation placed the school at the forefront of teacher training and staff development.
