2013 has been a year of celebration for The Compton with the school celebrating its 21st Birthday! Teresa Tunnadine, Headteacher since 1999, was also awarded a CBE for her services to education and received an Honorary Doctorate from Middlesex University. She was also nominated for the TES Headteacher of the Year award!

The students also achieved the school’s best ever results with 99% of students achieving 5A* to C grade and 79% of students achieving 5A* to C grades including English and Maths.
2013 also saw the beginning of Phase 3 of new building works at The Compton with the old Music and Drama rooms being demolished to make way for a new, state of the art Creative Arts block and Sixth Form centre. The all weather pitch was also resurfaced in association with Power League.
Phase 3 of the new school buildings has begun and should be completed by January 2015 and will allow much internal school expansion.
With an increased form of entry in each year group, the school should reach 1050 students by 2017 and with the addition of a Sixth Form in 2015, this number should be even higher, giving even more students the opportunity to be a part of The Compton community.
