The Compton Press Release for A Level ResultsPosted on: 21/08/2020
We are so proud of our students who have shown such tenacity, resourcefulness, resilience and engagement in unprecedented times. We accept that this year is far from normal: schools, colleges and the Government have been placed in a unique position in trying to devise a system to replace the public exams.
We are delighted that our A Level students have been awarded their Centre Assessed Grades. The process by which the school determined its grades was rigorous, fair and followed all national guidelines. Consequently, we are thrilled that many of our students have secured the highest grades and their first choice places at some of top universities in the country. We will continue to support those students who are deciding on their final university places next year.
Many of our students, who grades were revised, are even more excited about what the future holds. Ruby, who achieved an amazing A*A*A* in Art, English Literature and Sociology said: “I am much happier now that the Centre Assessed Grade has been awarded. I’m also happy for my friends who initially missed out on university places as now they can now go. I am glad that the teachers’ grades were trusted because they know the students better than anyone. I am really excited about the future; I am going to study Art at Central St Matins in the autumn with a view of doing a degree.”
