The Compton SCITT Partnership is a well established Initial Teacher Training (ITT) provider. We have an excellent track record in training, retaining and developing staff as successful classroom practitioners, middle and senior leaders. The Compton SCITT has been training teachers for 8 years. Annually, the vast majority of trainees secure employment and have embarked on a most fantastic and rewarding career.
Our trainee teachers work alongside expert colleagues within our SCITT Partnership before qualifying as teachers. We feel our training provision is unique given that current practitioners experienced in the delivery of national programmes form the main facilitation team for our taught curriculum. This ensures our trainee teachers are receiving the best and most current education and theory practice.
Our strap line states that “trainees will receive an immersive training programme where they are working alongside outstanding teachers with current and relevant experience.”
Through our placement school model schools invest in our trainees and support them to integrate training into practice.
We believe that our school based route to qualified teacher status offers trainees an in-depth opportunity to work in a systematic, sustained way alongside expert colleagues.
Above all, we are committed to delivering a high quality “hands on” training experience that will provide trainees with the foundations for a rewarding career in teaching.
What we offer
For 2022-23, we offer School Direct Non-Salaried courses in the Secondary phase (11-16) as well as Training Route (sometimes referred to as ‘SCITT’ or ‘Tuition Fee Route’) in a range of secondary subjects. Please see the link below for a detailed explanation of the difference between these routes.
Our course is entirely school centred providing classroom based, practical training, underpinned by a weekly educational studies programme leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Trainees may opt in to gaining a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). The course is full time over 39 weeks (term time only). Trainees will receive an immersive training provision where they are working alongside expert colleagues with current and relevant experience.
