The Compton SCITT stands for ‘School Centred Initial Teacher Training’ and means that The Compton can now award Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) to its growing number of trainees.

Our trainee teachers train alongside The Compton’s outstanding staff all year before qualifying as teachers. Senior teachers from The Compton, who are working on national programmes of education and regularly training teachers from across the South East of England deliver first class training in school each week. This ensures our trainee teachers are receiving the best and most current education and theory practice.

Our strap line states that “trainees will receive an immersive training programme where they are working alongside outstanding teachers with current and relevant experience.” We are very proud that we can now also label our training as Outstanding in all four areas of the Ofsted criteria.

The Compton SCITT Partnership includes: Finchley Catholic High School, Heartlands High School, Hendon School, Kingsmead School, Southgate School, St James’ Catholic High School, The Compton School, Woodside High School and Wren Academy.
