Interview Process
We consider all information provided on the application and invite a high proportion of applicants to our interview process.
Applicants are interviewed at The Compton School or at one of our partner schools. We will discuss potential base schools if you are invited to the interview process.
The interview will typically involve a half-day at the school. This will include a 20-minute lesson observation and fundamental English and Maths skills tests. The interview process is rigorous and thorough, designed to get the best match of applicant to the places available.
We will give you support and guidance prior to the interview so that you are fully aware of the expectations on the day. As this may be the first time you have taught students, we will ensure you are told in advance about the content of the lesson and the year group you will be teaching.
Applicants are observed teaching by a member of our senior staff and a subject specialist. If applicants are successful in the first part of the interview, they will then be invited to the final panel interview.
